In June 2023, a District Court overturned this ruling, allowing the Tribe to continue offering sports betting in Florida. However, this was short-lived, and a month later, a ruling by a federal judge put the compact on hold. In 2021, Governor Ron DeSantis signed a gaming compact between the state and the Seminole Tribe into law, allowing the Tribe to provide online sports betting in the state. However, while online sports betting recently got the green light after some legal back-and-forth, the state is yet to entertain the idea of regulated online casinos in Florida.
